Andrew believes in the power of design to change the world. He founded the Dieline in 2007 and continues to share his knowledge about and passion for great design through his work as the editor-in-chief and CEO. Andrew is also a partner and Co-Chief Creative officer of PRINT Magazine, where he relaunched the 80-year-old publication as a vibrant online creative hub.

In 2009, Andrew started Dieline Awards to formally recognize the world’s best consumer product packaging design. And, in 2010, he founded Dieline Conference, an annual conference for creative professionals in the packaging design and branding industry. Andrew became a Climate Reality Leader after training under Al Gore at the 2018 Climate Reality Corps and joined A Plastic Planet, a U.K. based non-profit that is dedicated to dramatically reducing the amount of single use plastic used in the packaging industry. Andrew teaches packaging design at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, CA and speaks and consults worldwide on the topics of packaging design and sustainable packaging.

About Andreu

Andreu graduated in Industrial Design Engineering at CEU Cardenal Herrera University. He co-founded 'Maki Project' in 2015, where they designed everyday objects, both conceptual and for companies, which allowed them to gain international exposure. After several years working as a freelancer and in his studio, he joined Lavernia&Cienfuegos in 2017, where he was responsible for the product design department and for international relations with clients abroad. In 2023, Andreu founded a brand, called Oven Atelier, where he designs and produces, with his own hands and his own workshop, everyday kitchen-related objects, as well as furniture and design projects he is commissioned."

Lavernia & Cienfuegos is a multidisciplinary design studio based in Valencia, Spain. We are a global agency specialising in graphic, product and packaging design. We are based in Valencia, in the middle of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Housed in a 19th century Valencian villa, our work environment is pleasant, calm and bright, surrounded by gardens and is conveniently nestled in the city center.

What is your brand going to be famous for? We're all excited by the potential for change in the kind of products we see on shelves and find in our homes. Products that tread lightly and do good. But we all know – and history shows – that great products only succeed when they are great brands too.

In this talk we’ll go on a journey, exploring history and how the brain works. We’ll see what a 4000 year old Welsh legend of a golden ghost boy tells us about how brands work today. We’ll show you shopping lists and lazy, disinterested consumers who aren't nearly as loyal to your brand as you think. But most importantly we'll show you how Vikings turned out to be a great answer for a pot of yogurt.
